Recently, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in Florida was overrun with kittens. Bummer, yes, they have our sympathy. In the pictures shared on Facebook, you can see the wild kittens on the loose in the lobby. Meanwhile, one officer seems to have particularly enjoyed one fluffy kitten’s company.

The brave officers at the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in Florida were in for quite a surprise. A call came in about twelve kittens abandoned in a carrier at the local Dunedin park. The kittens were brought to the North District Station lobby, and they had a ball!

Image what that call might have sounded like.

“Beep Beep. Dispatch, Officer Fuzz requires backup. Bring tuna and catnip. 10-4 Officer Fuzz backup is on the way.”

We bet the officers enjoyed a break with these tiny adorable floofs for a while.

“Kittens and cuteness overload took over our North District Station lobby last weekend after a call came in about 12 abandoned kittens in a carrier at a Dunedin park. Deputies responded and brought them over to the station before getting in contact with Suncoast Animal League in Palm Harbor.”

Suncoast was able to identify the kittens at around four to five weeks old. Not even old enough to be away from mom!

Suncoast Animal League is based in Palm Harbor, Florida. They are a no-kill, non-profit, and no-time limit shelter. After taking in kittens, they will often be housed in foster homes to prepare them for their permanent home.

Growing Up in Foster Care

For those interested in adopting these kittens, the Sheriff’s Office suggested following the rescuers at Suncoast. However, the kittens will first enjoy some TLC in foster care.

In the spring and summer months, rescues and shelters have a flood of kittens and cats requiring care and/or ready for adoption. Most rescues are also constantly looking for people willing to foster kittens and depend on the generosity of kind people to care for them all.
“Suncoast has identified the kittens to be around four to five weeks old. They are currently being housed in a foster home and they will be available for adoption after they are twelve weeks old and complete their medical program. Be sure to follow Suncoast Animal League to stay up to date on when they’ll be available for adoption and more!”
For National Kitten Day, the rescuers shared an image of some very content kittens in foster care.
