Jeanie was adopted in 2007. A good Samaritan found her on the side of the road, limping and brought her into a local rescue. They discovered that she had a crippled front foot. A veterinarian removed the leg and placed her up for adoption. That’s when she came into our lives. They believe she was about five or six months old at the time. She’s the perfect mix of several small breeds but the most notable feature about Jeanie is her sweet and caring nature. 

She’s very in tune with human emotions and it’s this quality that led to a long and successful career as a certified therapy dog. For over a decade, Jeanie has been spreading love and joy to thousands of people from all walks of life, in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and veterans homes. Children take comfort and strength from Jeanie’s happy attitude and resilience, especially children with special needs or fellow amputees. 

Since this brave little hero has won a battle with thyroid cancer, she now inspires cancer patients. No matter what life throws at her, Jeanie continues to encourage her family, her community, and people all over the world. And she’s pretty darn cute.
