The best buddy in the entire world belonged to this 10-year-old golden retriever named Forsberg, a ginger cat who passed away at the age of 15 from thyroid cancer. Since the two were truly best buddies inseparable, the dog was understandably upset when his feline buddy left him by himself. Forsberg lost his companion, but fortunately the remainder of the tale ends happily.

When Forsberg went for the rainbow bridge, he searched frantically for his mate and was devastated when he couldn’t find him. Forsberg’s human mother, Jen Philion, made the decision to send him a new kitten to lift his spirits.

On Reddit, Jen stated:

“Problem solved! Forsberg truly missed owning a cat.”

It seemed to have been love at first sight. The dog and the cat were both delighted that Forsberg had grown so connected to the small kitten that he had allowed him to cuddle up next to him.

The furry tiny ball is now an adult by the name of Maxwell. They have been inseparable for more than a year.
