The orange cat, named Rubbix, was born with crooked rear legs and is overjoyed to be able to run and walk on all of his paws for the first time. Rubbix can’t help but exhibit his pleasure.
The adorable kitten and her sister Boo were brought to the Chatons Orphelins Montréal animal sanctuary in Canada a few weeks ago. The volunteers at the shelter wanted to be able to provide the kittens the treatment they needed and a second shot at life.
Sadly, Rubbix had physical issues with his rear legs that were extremely obvious, but he had the heart of a great warrior.
“Rubbix’s hind legs were turned around and moving in the opposite direction. He moved using his back knees and front legs.
Rubbix could not see any different from the other kittens despite having this malformation in his legs; he only wanted to play.
The cat was always looking for attention, was eager to play, and made every effort to follow anything moving.
Rubbix was unable to be stopped from having fun, so the rescue center sent him to an orthopedic surgeon to enhance his quality of life.
The veterinarian conducted a number of tests before deciding that the little boy would benefit most from having surgery to fix his rear legs.
Cathy said:
“The sooner the procedure is completed, the better my chances are of having successful results.”
Due to the stress in his tendons, his physical issue grew worse as the days went by, necessitating immediate action.
Celine continued:
“We wanted to make sure she had every chance to enhance her quality of life so she could have the typical (pain-free) life she deserves,” says the doctor.
