The saying “love is blind” is one that is frequently heard, and Dmitri, a blind cat from Greece, is a good example of how true it is. Despite his difficulties, he was able to find a family that absolutely fell in love with him.
Previously, Dmitri was just a stray cat prowling the streets of Greece in search of a place to stay or something to eat. He was apparently rendered blind when something awful occurred to his eyes since both of them were infected, first one and then the other.
Dmitri was transferred to a veterinary facility, where the staff were forced to operate to remove both of his eyes.
The kitten was adopted by a charity in London, England, where owing to his condition, he received all the care and attention he required.
Emma, a woman searching for a street cat to adopt, arrived to the charity while he was there.
The local staff advised the woman to adopt a blind cat when she phoned the charity. These cats are typically abandoned more frequently, and it is much harder to find them a forever home.
The ideal choice was to assist an animal in need because it was exactly what Emma wanted to do.

Emma was informed by the shelter that they had a blind kitten available, which they had imported from Greece after saving it from the streets. They also informed him that they had to amputate both of his eyes since they discovered him to have a very bad eye infection.
Once she finally met Dmitri, their lives were forever altered by his endearing presence and attitude.

“As soon as I met him, I fell in love. I thought he was incredibly handsome and that he was so kind and thoughtful from the start. He embraced my foot as soon as I entered the room, so I knew he wanted to adopt it.
Despite being blind, Dmitri now lives with his family at Emma’s home and leads a normal cat’s life. Dmitri discovered how to utilize his other senses to navigate; the only difference is that he is unable to venture outside alone, but they permit him to explore the walled gardens.
