Peaches is a plump cat with an even larger personality.
There’s always been more about Peaches than meets the eye, but it’s become much less so recently. Peaches, as you can see, has received a new hairstyle that leaves very little to the imagination.
Peaches was a shelter cat who was acquired by Chrissy Higginson Barnabei’s elderly in-laws a few years ago. Though they adored her, they may have spoiled her a little too much, as demonstrated by her waistline.
And with those extra pounds came an unsavoury condition.
When it came time to clean herself, Peaches discovered that she could no longer reach a few crucial areas.
Peaches eventually needed a new home due to circumstances, and happily Barnabei’s own family was able to take her in. They realized immediately away that she needed to lose weight in order to live her best life.
“She’s been on diet food and a rigorous feeding regimen since then,” Barnabei told The Dodo. “However, because of Peaches’ size, she has difficulty washing herself.”
Peaches was embarrassed to be so filthy, and as a result, she was less likely to receive the exercise she required. That all changed after a few well-placed snips.
Peaches’ physician advised a “sanitary cut” to remove the fur around the cat’s inaccessible rear end at a recent exam. Barnabei gave the go-ahead, not fully grasping what would be revealed.
Peaches, it turns out, has a pronounced tush.
Barnabei was taken aback.
“When I saw her enormous pink bottom,” she said, “I busted out laughing.” “I was stunned, yet I couldn’t help but chuckle.”
Was Peaches ashamed to be letting it all hang out so suddenly? Hardly.
“She’s very comfortable with her new style. She’s a total diva “Barnabei said. “It has greatly aided her. She is no longer bothered by problems or pain. I expected her to be chilly, but she’s just fine.”
Peaches seems like a whole different cat now that she has her two cheeks to the breeze.
Barnabei decided to post images of her cat’s new look online in the hopes that the concept may aid other kitties who are struggling with similar hygiene issues. The message quickly went viral, with many commentators taking the advice to heart. Others were simply awestruck:
One user remarked, “Peaches is thicc.”
“I can’t quit staring and laughing!” said another.
Peaches may be on her way to online celebrity, but her liberating new haircut has given her a spring in her step, prompting the cat to be more active and burn more calories.
With that, she’s on her way to a healthier new self, after which her hind end may revert to its naturally hairy condition.
“Once she sheds a few pounds, she’ll be able to reach, and she won’t need any more hygienic cuts,” Barnabei explained. “Though seeing her pink butt flash by all the time is rather amusing.”
