Prepare to be wowed by this adorable chubby shelter cat named Lebowski – a pet whose laid-back nature is ideal for anybody who enjoys relaxing.
If you’re not into brevity, he can alternatively be addressed as The Dude, Duder, His Dudeness, or El Duderino.
Lebowski, weighing in at 30 pounds, was surrendered to DuPage County Animal Services in Illinois.
The cat was previously known as Oliver, but as the shelter employees came to know him, that name didn’t seem to suit. So they called him after “The Big Lebowski’s” most unflappable protagonist, whom he resembles in more ways than one.
“[He’s] huge, laid-back, and not one to make a fuss over, well, anything,” shelter spokesperson Andrea Salis told The Dodo.
And that’s not just, like, her opinion, man.
As one might think, Lebowski wasn’t picky about where he ended up – as long as it was with a nice family.
“He has previously lived with cats and children. We believe he would do well in a home with dogs based on his laid-back nature “At the time, Salis stated.
“He’ll brighten up any space with his buff and white fur. He’s only waiting for you to take him in “Salis said.
But, thankfully, things worked out in the end for The Dude.
He found a new family after a brief time at the shelter
The Dude really does abide.
