But it didn’t take away the surprise when, in the middle of a recent fashion show in Turkey, a genuine cat chose to join the stage, grabbing both the attention and everyone’s heart. Through force.
People in the fashion business are notoriously difficult to please, but those in attendance at this week’s Esmod International Fashion Show in Istanbul didn’t see this one coming. The presence of a stray cat on the runway seemed to have captivated the crowd’s interest more than the outfits on exhibit.
“Everyone was shocked,” said fashion designer Göksen Hakk Ali to The Dodo.
It’s unknown where the cat came from, but her motivations were clear: she wanted the audience’s undivided attention and appreciation. And, based on her charming little attacks on passing models, those weren’t something she was willing to share.

Sure, the hyperactive kitten has to tone it down on stage, but she’s got the runway walk down perfect. When asked if the wannabe model feline might have a career in the fashion world, Hakk Ali said it couldn’t be ruled out.
“Haha, maybe,” she remarked. “What’s the harm?”
That kind of talent is difficult to pass up.
