Daisy might be hesitant when meeting new people, but she’s extremely affectionate with those she cares for, especially her father. She’s always adored snuggling up with her dad whenever he’s around, and the duo just formed the sweetest habit by mistake.
“Ever since Daisy was a baby, we observed that when you picked her up, she would constantly grasp towards the sky,” Daisy’s mother, Sydney Honeycutt, told The Dodo. “Of course, we thought it was cute! However, after reading some TikTok videos about stretching your cat by pushing below their arms when they lift them, Callen decided to try it with Daisy as she raised her paws!”
Daisy’s father thought it would be a cute, fun thing to do, but he had no clue how much Daisy would end up enjoying it.
Daisy now waits for her father to get home every day so he can help her stretch. She’s always delighted to see him and be a part of their new routine, and her father is more than ready to oblige.
“Every time Callen gets home, Daisy sits on our chair closest to the door, waiting for him to meet her and stretch her,” Honeycutt explained. “It’s always followed by a ‘Ooooh huge stretch’ from Callen or myself.” Daisy is quite enthusiastic about it! She expects that every time Callen steps through the door.”
Daisy has no plans to quit stretching now that it has become a part of their daily routine. She doesn’t get upset if her father forgets, but she does hold him accountable.
“She doesn’t get upset if it doesn’t happen, but if he doesn’t do it, she will follow him everywhere he goes and wait for him to ultimately do it,” Honeycutt explained.
Daisy and her father adore their new schedule. It’s the cutest way for them to express how much they adore each other.
