Wolfie was rescued after living behind a building on Skid Row in Downtown Los Angeles with his siblings. Wolfie was always different from the minute he arrived in his new home. He was a frail kitten, and his mother later found that he had been born with a badly kinked esophagus. Once he started eating an all-liquid diet, he got much healthier, and has since transformed into the funniest, sweetest cat.
“Oh my word, he’s funny,” Wolfie’s mother, Jacqueline Santiago, told The Dodo. “He’s vivacious and makes the craziest faces.” He’s a complete mama’s boy. He adores all cats and wishes to play with them all.”
Wolfie, despite his particular requirements, doesn’t appear to realize he’s any different and enjoys playing with all of his cat siblings whenever he has the chance. There are five cats living in Santiago and her roommate’s house. They all get along well and like spending time together, so the two pals decided to gift them something they could all enjoy together – a massive cat tree.
“My roommate and I had been looking for cat trees because our other trees were a little too tiny for her cat and our four other kittens,” Santiago explained. “We wanted something that could meet the demands of everyone.”
They decided to order a custom cat tree from Hollywood Kitty Company and began working with the designer to create something suitable for each of their furry family members.
“I created the decaying tree stump on the right for my cat Piper, who needs her own private sanctuary,” Santiago explained. “Our larger cats, Leonidas and Noelle, can fit on the larger platforms.” Our kitten Khaleesi enjoys all of the branches, and there is a bed in the center exclusively for her. Wolfie, like Leo, like being on top, so we made sure there were multiple lofty platforms so there would be no jostling for the top perch. Over the course of our discussion about what we were searching for it kept morphing!”
The family-friendly cat tree gradually evolved and morphed — until the ultimate product was more stunning than anybody could have anticipated.
“He [the designer] claims it’s the most intricate cat tree he’s ever done in his experience of manufacturing them,” Santiago explained.
The cat tree is like a beautiful forest, and all of the cats in the home are obsessed with it…
… particularly Wolfie.
“He was very excited,” Santiago added. “He went directly into the main trunk. The main trunk has a tunnel that stretches all the way up to various floors and also from side to side. He dashed into the tunnels!”
Wolfie has adored his new cat tree since the moment he saw it, and he enjoys hanging out on it and in it with all of his siblings. This special needs cat went from living on the streets to hanging out in the most magnificent cat tree anybody has ever seen, and his adoration for his new realm isn’t going away anytime soon.
“We only got it a few days ago, but I haven’t seen him since,” Santiago explained. “He’s usually in it now.”
