Nala has been with her family since she was a kitten, and she has always taken great delight in being the family’s treasured baby. She enjoys spending time with her parents and receiving plenty of attention, and being carried like a baby has always been one of her favorite kind of attention.

Since Nala grew up with her family, she’s used to being carried and being near to them, and seems to like being cradled in her parents’ arms. While some cats dislike being carried, Nala has never been one of them…

Nala’s favorite thing to do while her father is playing video games is to crawl up on top of him, interrupting the game…

… and then fall into the crook of his arm, so that she’s being cradled.

“She constantly comes to me at night and does the trust fall into my arms,” Nala’s father, Alexander Fredriksen, told The Dodo. “Despite the fact that she usually wakes me up, it’s a routine I enjoy.”

Nala has always been a funny cat, which her parents like — but when the pair recently had a baby, they were concerned about how queen Nala would respond.

“We were scared she would feel intimidated or envious, and we anticipated worst-case situations in which our daughter might also be allergic,” Fredriksen explained. “But we were positively surprised.”

While she was initially wary of her new baby sister and maintained her distance for a while, Nala ultimately warmed up to her and now adores her…

… and promptly began teaching her how wonderful it feels to be cradled in her parents’ arms.

Despite the fact that Nala has accepted her baby sister into the family, she ensures that she is ALWAYS engaged in whatever family activity that her sister is involved in. Starting with mealtime…

… and everything in between, Nala is making certain that her new baby sister understands who the REAL queen of the home is.

Nala, on the other hand, appears to be quite thrilled to have a new friend, and her new baby sister is equally excited to have Nala, a big sister and best friend who will always be there to defend her.

“Up early in the morning? “She comes along,” Fredriksen explained. “Going to the restroom to change diapers? She comes along with us. And at night, Maryon sleeps next to the baby, while Nala sleeps next to me. We are a weird but sweet family of four. Nala is happy, the baby is happy, and we are happy.”
