Janie is a sweet cat that was discovered abandoned on a road in Ontario, Canada. Aside from being adorable, the tiny girl is notable for having a pretty distinctive coat, and many have been amazed by her unique color, which makes her appear like a newborn raccoon.

Janie weighed just 82 grams when she was discovered, yet she had survived owing to her determination. She was promptly sent to Tiny but Mighty Kitten Rescue, a local rescue organization committed with assisting all homeless kittens.

Melissa, the rescue center’s founder, took in the small kitten to offer her with the required care and to assist her in overcoming her challenges.

Melissa stated to Bored Panda:

“Janie was discovered alone on the pavement. The folks who discovered her said she was screaming for her life. She was left in the sun for an extended period of time, resulting in rather significant burns on her rear legs.”

The mother had a particular plan for Janie, leaving her in the incubator for two weeks and bottle-feeding her until she was physically healthy.

Following various tests, it was revealed that the color of her coat is known as “Fever Coat,” which occurs when the mother has an illness or stress during pregnancy and normally has no harmful effect on the kitten’s overall health.

So there is no need to be concerned because Janie is not in any danger. Although it is possible that it will lose its unusual color as it matures. The most essential thing now was to find Janie an adopted mother, and happily, the rescue organization found the right volunteer.

Melissa had taken in a pregnant cat a few days before Janie arrived, and she gave birth a few weeks later. So it dawned to the lady that the ideal approach would be to introduce Janie to the cat mom when it was convenient.

The tiny child managed to gain 100 grams of weight after three days of 24-hour care, demonstrating a breakthrough. Janie continued to develop and gain weight over the following several days, and the spots of her silver fur began to darken, giving her a unique tint.

Melissa stated:

“She was often purring and curling over to get her tummy stroked.”

Every time the cat meowed, she drew Mom June’s attention, who was looking out a window as Melissa fed the baby.

Melissa stated:

“As soon as I was able to introduce them, June embraced Janie as her own. June had to lick and clean it for about ten minutes before snuggling up with everyone and nursing the infants. It was a lovely moment.”

Janie does not feed on her mother because all she knows is feeding from a bottle, but she enjoys hugging mom and her brothers. Despite the fact that she gets along well with all of her siblings, one in particular favored her younger sister, Jasmine, who was the most independent of the litter.

She was so smitten with Janie that she constantly wanted to stay at her sister’s side while the other kittens were having fun. When the cat opened its eyes, she began to wander, eager to join the commotion with her adopted siblings and investigate the entire area.

Janie is roughly two weeks younger than her siblings, but she makes up for her lack of bulk with her sweet demeanor and lovely fur.

She is beginning to explore her house, has learned to use the litter box on her own, and attempts to do everything the other kittens do.

Janie, who is already eight weeks old and thriving in foster care, is learning to feed by observing her mother June.

“She’s getting to the age when she can keep up with other kittens. She merely cries when she can’t find me or her siblings.”
