After being rescued from the streets of Indianapolis, Indiana, alongside their mother and other littermates, two kittens discovered the bravery they needed to survive in life thanks to their foster home.

Flower and Bloom, together with their kitty family, came at Indyhuman, an animal rescue group in Indianapolis. All of the mother cat’s kittens were placed in foster care when she finished raising her offspring and was ready to find a forever home.

Jennifer, a shelter worker, was caring for a cat named Blossom who had recently lost her sibling, and she hoped to find her a companion.

She believed Flower and Bloom were the perfect candidates to become best friends with her kitty Blossom when she first learned about them.

She chose to foster both kittens and welcomed them into her house, where she could offer them with all of the care they need to grow. When the feline sisters first arrived in their new home, they were cautious and huddled together on their new bed, but that quickly changed.

“They have their own apartment (corral) in the foster room adjacent to Blossom’s. They’ll become housemates if everyone is healthy.”

Jennifer came to investigate what was going on and saw both sisters making furious expressions as they began to meow loudly and create a disturbance in the pen.

Flower and Bloom had apparently had little experience with people, but they were gradually acclimating to their caregivers. Bloom, the tortoiseshell kitten, was the most powerful of the two, with a lot of meowing in her body and a lot of fearlessness in her eyes.

Jennifer had this to say:

“She hisses at me for a brief while before attempting to climb all over me.”

Flower is more hesitant, but as soon as Jennifer enters her enclosure, they both come out boldly and begin racing, playing, and climbing on her body.
