Chubby Hairless Cat Weighed Three Times What He Was Supposed To

When his family discovered that their kid was allergic to him, everything changed for a gorgeous hairless cat named Boo.
Boo, an elf cat, was placed in a separate area of the home while the family figured out what to do — and his sole source of solace was typically his food.
That’s how Boo grew to weigh a staggering 25 pounds – over three times his breed’s average weight.
Things became more problematic when the family discovered they were expecting another child, and Boo was finally given up — but happily, he found the right family who loved him exactly as he was while also helping him get trim and healthy again.
“At his previous home, he was kept in a room with food down 24/7 with no contact,” Boo’s rescuer, Courtney Haney, told The Dodo. “When we took him in, we placed him on a feeding regimen that included two wet feeds a day and some dry mixed in throughout the day.”
Lamb, another hairless cat in his new household, quickly established friends with him and even assisted him in exercising.
“We played a lot with him and Lamb, so he got really energetic,” Haney said.
Boo began to lose weight gradually but steadily. When the family got a rescue dog, Penny Lane, the family’s playing (and healthful activity) increased even more.
“Penny and Boo are criminal collaborators,” Haney explained. “They’ll assist each other in stealing food off the counter.”
Boo lost nearly 8 pounds with the aid of Lamb and Penny Lane, and his vet thinks he’s now healthy.
“It took us about two years to get him down to 16 pounds, and he’s been able to keep that weight with his daily activity and eating routine,” Haney said. “Boo has dropped one-third of his body weight!”
But that doesn’t mean his excitement for a nice meal has faded.
“He’s still a foodie,” Haney remarked. “He’ll… open the dog treat containers with his massive paws and run away with cookies.”
“He literally snatched a full piece of chicken from my plate while I’m writing this,” she continued.
