Cat Who Lived In Cardboard Box Discovers What It Feels Like To Be Cozy

When Marcy’s family was evicted last summer, they left her behind and left her to fend for herself outside. She sought shelter in an old cardboard box in a neighbor’s yard and remained there for many months until someone determined in December that she couldn’t live like that any longer.
Rebecca McGinn was visiting her brother for her niece’s birthday when he mentioned a cat that had been staying in his yard. She walked outdoors to see if Marcy would allow her get near to her — and fell in love right away.
McGinn knew she was taking Marcy home the moment she spotted her, sick and homeless.
“I chose to adopt her since she was shivering and had sore eyes inside a wet cardboard box,” McGinn told The Dodo. “She came up for petting as soon as she spotted me and was very nice and friendly.”
Marcy was in bad shape when McGinn initially brought her in, and after being examined by a veterinarian, it was revealed that she had eye problems, worms, pneumonia, a lung infection, and skin problems that were causing her hair to fall out in clumps. Everyone knew Marcy’s path to recovery would be difficult, but McGinn was simply happy to have her home and show her what it was like to have a nice, warm place to snuggle up with a family who cared.
“She settled right in and snuggled up and slept for days,” McGinn added.
Marcy was overjoyed to finally have soft, cuddly places to snuggle up on after everything she had gone through, and she is now addicted to all things snuggly.
“The thing she enjoys the most is cuddling up with me and my spouse,” McGinn added. “She’s really preoccupied with blankets and people.” She enjoys being tucked in and clothed. She spends 99 percent of her time on or on a nice blanket!”
It doesn’t matter if it’s pillows…
… blankets…
… or one of her new people, Marcy has become an adept at finding warm spots to sleep and has no intentions to change her ways anytime soon.
Marcy is completely enamored with her new life, and she is so caring and trustworthy despite everything she has gone through. She may have had a difficult past, but now that she’s found the perfect new family, they’ll make sure she’s happy and comfortable for the rest of her days.
“She has the most loving, charming demeanor,” McGinn remarked. “She is really clinging and enjoys all of the attention.” She is very kind and trustworthy with everyone.”
