Guy Loses His Cat, So His Family Surprises Him With A New Kitten

Tabby was a little standoffish at first since she was getting acclimated to her new home, but Morgan knew they were destined to be best friends.

“After a time, she really mellowed and started yearning for attention from him,” Morgan’s mother, Cynthia Roseberry, told The Dodo. “Almost from the start, he referred to her as ‘his daughter.’”

Morgan has autism, and his friendship with his closest friend Tabby has always been extremely important to him. Morgan and Tabby had been best friends for ten years, but Tabby passed away of old age last September at the age of 16, and Morgan was devastated.

Roseberry described him as “heartbroken.” “He arranged a burial ceremony that was attended by the entire family.”

Morgan grieved the death of his best buddy, Tabby, and needed time to digest his grief. He told his family right before his 18th birthday that he was finally ready to get another cat, and they planned to adopt a kitten and surprise Morgan with her at his birthday celebration.

Morgan opened one of his gifts during the party and saw cat toys inside. He was first perplexed – until he soon recognized what was going on.

Morgan began to weep as soon as he opened the carrier and gently brought out his new cat. He still missed Tabby terribly, but he was overjoyed to have a new cat in his life. He named his new rescued cat Vitani after Simba from “The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride.”

Everyone at Morgan’s celebration was overjoyed to see him with Vitani. They understood how difficult it was for him to lose Tabby, and they were all overjoyed to be able to assist him begin the next chapter of his life with Vitani.

Morgan and Vitani have already started to establish an unbelievable friendship. Morgan will never forget Tabby, but he is overjoyed to have another kitten to care for and will provide her with the same lovely, love-filled life that he had for Tabby.
