Stray Cat Moves Into Church And Humbly Accepts The Worshippers’ Praise

Junior is a lovely stray cat that showed up at this parish in Brazil a few months ago and chose not to leave.

Clearly, this kitten thinks of himself as a big deal.

Nobody knows where Junior comes from, but he’s decided to make the So Sebastio Parish in the town of Atibaia his new home. It was a kind gesture on the kitty’s behalf.

Junior, you see, appears to believe that those he blesses with his wonderful cat presence are nothing short of blessed.

To emphasize this point, here’s a snapshot of Junior “donating” himself in the church’s collection basket:

During services, Junior is known to wander the aisles or, if he’s feeling particularly kind, to settle upon one lucky person’s lap for a snooze.

Junior, on the other hand, decided to relax his modesty a little, putting himself front and center.

And, despite the fact that the priest’s lecture was undoubtedly about how amazing Junior is, he managed to keep his calm.

Although Junior may be incorrect about what “his” supporters are truly there for, their devotion to him is more than just lip service.

Osvaldo Boracini, the church’s pastor, has been looking after Junior from the day he came. And, while the cat may not be the small divinity he imagines himself to be, the love he inspires has given a wonderful air to the chapel.

People outside the church have also taken note.

“I am not Catholic, but I commend the priest and the [congregation] on their respect and compassion for the kitty!” commented one online commentator. “It’s fantastic! There is so much to be proud of!”
