Cat Learns To Say ‘OK’ Anytime Her Dad Asks A Question

Akkodha has always been a kind cat, saying “OK” to almost every inquiry her father asks — literally.
When Dan Spano and his wife brought Akkodha home from the humane society, they found she was chatty. Akkodha’s former owners had returned her to the shelter because her fur was “too long.” Akkodha, on the other hand, was ideal for her new family.
“She has her chirps and meows, and she always talks to me when I wake up,” Spano told The Dodo.
Spano began speaking back to Akkodha as if she were a human, and the two had pleasant talks. Then Spano noted that whenever he asked Akkodha a question, she responded with “OK.”

The more Spano interacted with Akkodha and played with her, the more obvious her Oks were. “And we’ve gotten to where she is today simply through years and years of messing around with her and going back and forth,” Spano explained.
Akkodha, like other cats, becomes more chatty when she wants something. “She’ll typically say that if I’m anywhere near the kitchen pantry that houses her sweets,” Spano explained. “She associates that with me, and now she simply wants to repeat it.”
When Spano’s wife and friends commented on how lovely the senior kitty’s speaking was, Spano began filming his discussions with Akkodha and uploading them to TikTok. Spano appreciates how Akkodha has reached out to so many individuals via the platform, offering them joy and optimism.
“I believe it’s fantastic that we can bring smiles to people’s faces,” Spano remarked. “‘Hey, I need an OK this week,’ they’ll say. Alternatively, “I know everything will be alright as long as she says OK.”
@the.ok.cat My cat says ok part 1000. Sorry for the lack of content. I just got a new job and moved my family. Put in the comments questions I should ask Akkodha. ?❤️OK #fypシ #cat #catsoftiktok ♬ Walk Home – Akkodha
When Akkodha isn’t talking with her father, the now-15-year-old cat just wants to be near her folks and get some affection. Spano described her as “extremely loving.” “She’s on my lap as soon as I arrive home from work and sit in my recliner.” She’s usually following me around, rubbing against your leg in the hopes of getting pets.”
“I can’t fathom not having a cat — particularly not her,” Spano remarked. “She’s become like a member of the family.” She’s never angry or grouchy with you; she’s always pleased and delighted to see you when you get home. It’s really a fantastic feeling.”
And Akkodha is quite content with that.
