Autumn Pregizer’s cat Mango would jump onto her workout mat whenever she pulled it out for the longest period. He enjoyed hanging out with her as she worked out, rolling around on the mat and, of course, getting in her way whenever she attempted a new exercise.

“When I was using that mat, he’d crawl beneath me while I was planking, lay on it where there was room, and knead it,” Pregizer told The Dodo. “He’d also hang out on it and knead it if I left it out.”

Mango is enamored with his mom and needs to be a part of everything she does, so she wasn’t shocked that he needed to be a part of her gym regimen, just like so many other pets. He also appeared to be completely preoccupied with that specific workout mat. She reasoned that if she just gave him that mat and got a new one for herself, he’d stay on his own mat while she worked out — and it worked perfectly.

Mango is now always on Pregizer’s side as she works out…

… on his own mat, practicing his “exercises” alongside her.

“Whether he’s sleeping in the same room or on the other side of the house, he’ll come up and join me while I work out,” Pregizer said. “When I perform my exercises, he lays down, rolls about, or kneads on his mat.” He also keeps an eye on me as I do my workouts.”

Mango’s own mat makes him MUCH less disruptive to his mother’s training regimen while yet allowing him to participate — which he and his mother both enjoy.

“He’s like my own cheerleader,” Pregizer explained. “I’ve recently dropped almost 40 pounds, so any support, even from my cat, is very appreciated!” We obviously have a close relationship, and I’m glad for his company.”
