Fox Breaks Into Home To Steal The Cat’s Bed

Meloney Blazye had just gotten out of bed for work one morning last week and was walking into the bathroom to wash her teeth when she discovered something in her cat’s bed that wasn’t the cat.
“I spotted these really enormous ears as I was crossing the kitchen,” Blazye told The Dodo. “I stepped back, one foot in the bathroom, one foot in the hall, and looked again.” “Those weren’t cat ears!”
They belonged to a fox, who had crept in via an open window and taken Blazye’s cat’s place in the cat bed while the feline was out in the garden.
Blazye turned on the light, and instead of running away through the window from which he came, the fox just stared back at her.
“I looked at him, and he looked back,” Blazye explained. “He wasn’t afraid of me at all.”
Blazye was at a loss for what to do and attempted to think of who she might contact to properly dismiss her early-morning houseguest. Blazye’s cat, George, barged in through the bathroom window and began hissing at the fox, evidently not eager to share his bed with anybody else.
“The fox paid no attention,” Blazye claimed. “He was behaving like another member of the family who had been there for years and was perplexed as to what was all the commotion about.”
Blazye decided to tap on the bed to see if it would inspire the fox to depart because he was peaceful and exhibited no indications of mange or disease. She then tipped the bed up, but the fox clung to it for as long as he could before leaping out the window.
“If I hadn’t shut the window after that, he would have definitely come back in,” Blazye claimed. “I assume he was chilly because he didn’t want to be outside.” After that, he stood at the window for a few moments, peering in at the cat and me, before continuing on his way.”
While Blazye saw the same fox a few days later taking cover beneath a neighbor’s deck, he hasn’t tried to come back in since that morning.
“The entire affair blew me away,” Blazye remarked. “I’d never been face-to-face with a wild animal like that before – he was incredible to see up close.”
