Last November, Laila D’Souza, founder of the Winston Memorial Foundation in Kuwait, welcomed a young kitten that was in a terrible circumstance. The kitten, who had a worried expression on her face, was sent to the rescue center when she was just four weeks old and required particular care.

Laila immediately took her in and began providing the required care to move the young child ahead. The hairball was extremely thankful for all of the aid and compassion, and she was given the name Mia, and she gradually improved.

Laila stated:

“They took her away from her mother and sold her to a family that was only a week old.” She was really ill, riddled with worms and suffering from digestive difficulties. I knew she’d get well as soon as she was in my arms, safe from abuse and neglect.”

Mia soon changed into a lively and naughty young girl throughout her rehabilitation. Mia adored Laila’s dog, Leya, and liked spending time with her; jump on her and try to gain her attention.

Mia’s small frame did not appear to be a hindrance, and she was always looking for Leya to play with. Leya’s companionship aided the cat, who explored everything with her new buddy.

Mia was a cheerful kitten with boundless activity. She had a voracious appetite and entirely submerged herself in the food dish to satisfy it. Her antics throughout the home made everyone around her happy.

Mia has a peculiar expression of anxiety on her face, and whenever she set her gaze on something, she rocked her hindquarters back and forth in order to produce a tremendous jump.

Laila stated:

“She is lively, loving, and inquisitive. When she attempts to chase something, he usually has those huge frightened eyes, and she’s extremely sweet.”

Mia made a complete 180-degree turn and thrived in her foster family. She quickly met another rescued cat named Leo, with whom she spent a lot of time; they assisted each other and learnt everything together.

Mia, Leo, and five other cats rescued by the shelter set off on a trip to the United States in search of a permanent home just days before Christmas.

Petey & Furends and 4Paws Rescue Team, two animal rescue organizations in the Washington DC metropolitan region in the United States, decided to join forces and help these tiny ones get a second shot and find the home of their dreams.

Some local volunteers and rescuers were ready for Mia as soon as she arrived. Before meeting with her ideal family, the naughty kitty spent her first Christmas in the United States, where she instantly claimed the softest, fluffiest bed for herself.

Mia was legally adopted by the family that had been waiting for her after the new year. Mia has a feline friend for her adventures in her new house; the cute kitten is always enjoying the affection of her family.

Finally, Laila stated:

“I’m very proud of her and how far she’s come.”
