A sweet 15-year-old cat was abandoned on the streets of her neighborhood by her family because she was too old. Fortunately, she sought a neighbor for assistance.

Trixie, the senior cat, was well-known in the community, particularly by her next-door friend Denah. In addition, her dog Addie, a cat-loving German shepherd, was drawn to her since he had long admired the kitten.

Love Meow was told by Denah:

“Trixie was an indoor cat who my dog adored via a window for many years.”

Denah was taken aback after he saw Trixie wandering the streets of the neighborhood, so she scooped her up and drove her to her home. Denah went out for a leisurely stroll with her dog the next morning when Addie alerted her to something under a vehicle.

Denah stated:

“Trixie was the one. I called her, and she came up to me, even though Addie was weeping because she was with her. When I lifted her up, she instantly began purring.”

Unfortunately, the elder cat had wound herself back on the streets, without the supervision of her family or someone to look after her.

So Denah decided to take her to her house’s garage to offer her with refuge, as well as some food and lots of water.

The poor kitty was starving, but she appeared to be nervous and unhappy, so she dashed away after swallowing all of the food. Observing this behavior, Denah decided to seek assistance from the local Friends for Life Rescue Network shelter in Southern California.

Trixie’s owner was contacted by the shelter, and she instantly consented to sign the documents releasing her into her care.

Knowing the kitten’s family’s tragic choice, Denah went looking for her, picked her up, and took her to the vet for many tests, which revealed that she was missing teeth and had no claws, leaving her unable to fight for herself on the streets.

Trixie purred even though she was apprehensive at the vet because Denah was at her side; she felt secure under her protection.

Friends for Life Rescue Network co-founder Jacqueline DeAmor stated:

“Trixie is a living marvel for having survived so long on the streets without fangs or claws. I stated unequivocally that we would take her to our rescue center and find her a loving permanent home.”

Denah saw that the kitten wasn’t supporting one of her paws, so she decided to examine her more attentively to figure out what was wrong. The wound on the cat was most likely caused by another animal’s bite.

But, thanks to prompt assistance from a neighbor, Trixie was able to heal fast and successfully, and she can now relax.

According to Jacqueline:

“It crushed my heart to learn that she had been forced to live on the streets. I wanted to make sure she received the world because he deserved it.”

Trixie settled down next to her hero after a feast with plenty of food and purred excessively as though she was thanking her.

She quickly adjusted into her new area, and it was clear that she was happy to be a lovely inside cat again.

Denah remarked:

“Trixie has always been the kindest, quietest, and most loving thing she’s ever been with me.”

On October 21, the cute kitty turned 15 and celebrated with Denah and her adoring family.

Trixie was overjoyed to get her favorite supper, a comfy bed, and constant caresses; her ecstatic purrs echoed around the room.

The senior kitten may appear to have a short temper all the time, but her inner disposition is quite gentle and friendly.
