Gamers Become a Little Kitty in a Big City and Let Their Inner Feline Pounce!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to explore the world as a cat? What would it be like to be able to move a feline’s extreme agility? How much fun would it be to see everything from their point of view? While we can only imagine, the video game world has offered some cat-inspired pawsibilities. One of them allows you to play as a mischievous black cat: Little Kitty, Big City.
Although there’s a goal, you’re a cat, so do what you want!
Play As a Little Kitty Lost In a Big City
Recently, a Bellevue, Washington-based Indie developer unveiled Little Kitty, Big City. If you’ve played another game, Stray, you’ll find some similarities. Still, gamers have noted that Little Kitty offers a more whimsical and laid-back experience. While Stray has a very complex storyline, gameplay, and immersive cityscape, this one is overall simpler and comparatively lighthearted.
You’re the cat who got lost, and need to go back home. But how fast you get there is based on your cat’s sense of urgency, or lack thereof!

As the Little Kitty, you’re free to roam a city that draws inspiration from Tokyo and get into all sorts of playful mischief. The aim is to immerse yourself in a cat’s world, a concept that was born from the game developer’s own mischievous house cats, Mario and Roxy.
“Little Kitty, Big City is a game where you play as a cat, a mischievous cat, who is lost and has to find their way home,” Wood told King 5. “But on the way home, they find out there’s a lot of other really fun things to see and do in the city.”
While Wood’s kids were playing with Mario and Roxy, one of them had a sudden epiphany.
“We’re playing with the cats,” Wood says. “And like, [one of them said] I would love to play as a cat.”
As the Little Kitty, you can interact with and talk to all sorts of animals, like crows, ducks, and dogs. Unlike in real life, the Kitty doesn’t face dangers that could permanently end the game. In that sense, it’s nothing like a real stray or feral cat’s experience of struggling for survival on the street. Instead, it’s all about having fun and relieving stress.
You can find out more about the game on the game website.

The Indie Game of the Year?
One game reviewer, Jake Twitchin, became “obsessed” with Little Kitty, Big City. He even questioned if it could be the Indie game of the year! (See the video below.)
You can see that Little Kitty’s realistic feline movements are really a highlight of the game. You can get the zoomies at will and control how high you pounce at birds, or anything else.
There are many comical and cute moments as you do whatever you want, just like a cat would. Swat things off ledges with wild abandon! Finally, you will know what it’s like to be a cat jumping in the all-important cardboard box. But you’re also a cat of many hats. Oh yes, wearing ridiculously cute hats is part of the game.
Nuzzle up to kind strangers on the street or reject them and knock their phone to the ground. What kind of cat are you anyway? Although there are achievements to attain, they won’t stress you out. If they did, a real cat wouldn’t want to play anyway, would they?
Jake also has a cat at home named Richard, who makes a cameo at the end of his video review (See below).
