Nashville Zoo continues celebrating the conservation milestone of the birth of three critically endangered Sumatran tiger cubs. The cubs were born October 20, 2023, and they are now ready to be named. The public is invited to help vote for their favorite names from the choices below. Each vote comes with a financial commitment of the voter’s choosing and every dollar raised will go to the Tiger Conservation Campaign, an organization helping to save native habitats, curb poaching, eliminate the trade of tiger parts and reduce human/tiger conflicts.
Those who want to submit a vote to name a tiger cub can visit Nashville Zoo’s voting webpage and follow the directions. One dollar equals one vote. People are encouraged to vote as much as they like. Nashville Zoo is proud to announce that they will be matching all donations dollar for dollar up to $50,000. Voting will be open from December 15, 2023, until noon on January 11, 2024. The one male name and two female names that raise the most money for conservation will win. Names will be announced on January 12, 2024.
Anne, the mother, gave birth to one male and two female cubs. The three cubs will be raised by their mother at the Zoo until they are mature. Eventually, they will move to other zoos to meet their future mates. Below are the names people can vote for selected by Nashville Zoo’s carnivore keepers for each gender.
