When Rachael Lawrence and her family lost their two-year-old cat named Barnaby, they were truly devastated, and despite the passing of the months, the woman and her children always thought of their beloved feline. Unbelievably, one day the woman learned that she had found her pet when she recognized his meowing in the background of a phone call.

Rachael had contacted the veterinary clinic where her other 11-month-old cat named Torvi was, he would undergo surgery. Hearing meows at the end of the line, the woman asked the staff if it was Torvi she heard meowing, but was told it was a stray cat that had arrived a week ago.

The meow of that feline haunted Rachael’s mind for hours after hanging up, so without thinking twice she decided to call the clinic again.

After asking if the cat was black and being told that it was, the woman continued to inquire about certain signs in particular that Trovi had on his fur, such as a white spot on one of his hind legs. They replied that the cat had those particular signs.

As soon as she approached the clinic and the cat was taken into one of the rooms, Rachael knew that it was indeed her cat who disappeared 8 months earlier.

Rachaeal told Metro UK:

“I cried. I’m talking about snot bubble cries. I was screaming. We hadn’t seen him in eight months.”

At first, he was nicknamed Fatman by his family, but when he returned he had a lot of scabs all over his body and was really skinny and hairless after his ordeal those months on the streets.

But now the sweet feline is more than happy to be back together with his humans, and they can’t wait to feed him again and help him get back on his feet.

Rachael remembers video calling her three children, Be, Joshua and Amalie from the vet’s office.

The woman added:

“I just said, ‘Look who I found. They said: Oh my God, it’s Fatman! Now he is back home where he should be. He is behaving so well. We just have to fatten him up so he’s Fatman again.”
