A little 4-month-old kitten was transformed into a guardian angel for his epileptic canine companion. He continues to look after his spouse every day a year later. When Toby the dog began experiencing convulsions at age 5, epilepsy was identified as his underlying condition.

His diagnosis was given to the family in January 2015. They took in a little gray kitten at the time, which they called Jinx.

Says Emma

“The two just met. He receives strength from Jinx, who also looks out for him constantly.

An epileptic dog is cared after by this little cat.
Jinx came to her forever home at the age of 11 weeks. When he and Toby finally met a few weeks later, it was love at first sight.

When Toby was very young, I would estimate around 16 weeks old, Jinx joined him. They play together and even sleep together.

They quickly came to the conclusion that the two friends had a special connection. Just before Toby started having seizures, Jinx become very attentive and protective.

“Jinx will let me know if he detects a seizure by her head brushing against his, she gently holds his face and washes her eyes. He also calms him, then guards him while he sleeps and recovers. It’s a huge comfort to Toby who has epilepsy.”

She remarked, “They have an incredible relationship that allows me offer Toby urgent attention.” Jinx is an excellent communicator who significantly contributes to Toby’s health and well-being and manages to gain everyone’s attention.
