Millions of animals are abandoned each year. They have nowhere to go and no one to take care of them mostly they end up on the streets starving or going through serious injuries. According to the ASPCA, an astounding 6.3 million companion animals enter animal shelters in the United States each year. Approximately 920,000 shelter animals are euthanized each year (390,000 dogs and 530,000 cats). The statistics are so heartbreaking that it’s difficult to comprehend how many perfectly cute little animals never get a second chance in life.
