Six adorable foster kittens are named after yummy appetizers.

Sometimes, pet names give away more about us than the cat who receives them. Recently, foster mom Allison who helps the Green Bay Humane Society in Wisconsin shared the names she gave a litter of six kittens. They arrived in foster care on June 24 at five weeks old and were all doing well.

In this case, the foster baby names reflected the healthy appetite of someone carrying a baby of their own.

“Is it obvious that a pregnant lady named these kittens? ” she wrote on Instagram.

That’s right, each of these furbabies is named for a food, which might make you hungry too. We’ve seen many foster kittens named after food, and, of course, our favorite orange kitty Marmalade is one such example. But here, we have a whole litter of cuties with food-inspired names.

The ‘Appetizer Kittens’

Two of the Appetizer Kittens are girls, while the rest are boys. All are incredibly cute with yummy names to match.

“Here’s the formal introduction of the Appetizer Kittens!” Allison shared.

“They’re all VERY sweet. Now that they’ve settled in a little, they all run to greet me when I open the door and they all want to be in my lap at the same time When I’m not down there, they all sleep in a big adorable cuddle puddle.”

There are two girls, “smaller and less fluffy than the boys but still healthy weights,” Allison says:

  • Spinach Artichoke Dip

Sweet and Cuddly Appetizers

Two kittens, Cheesy Garlic Bread & Blooming Onion, are pretty brown and white, an unusual combination.

All the kittens are cuddly and sweet, she said:

“They’re all VERY sweet. Now that they’ve settled in a little, they all run to greet me when I open the door and they all want to be in my lap at the same time When I’m not down there, they all sleep in a big adorable cuddle puddle.”

When the Appetizer Kittens weren’t sleeping, they were loudly calling for mama, whether she was gone for “a few hours or 30 seconds.”

Appetizer Delivery

In another video, Allison shows what it looks like when your order a basket of Appetizers in this foster home. Here, they have a whole room to themselves where they can play endlessly.

“Good morning! The basket of kittens you ordered has arrived.???

Potato and Spinach Appetizers

Of all the Appetizer Kittens, the Potato is the most alert, a little unexpected perhaps.

“Squinty sleepy bebes. ? Except Potato. He is immediately awake and ready to be in my lap at a moment’s notice. ?

But, it’s Spinach who has captured her foster Mom’s heart because she reminds her of her older cat.

“I’m a little extra attached to her because she reminds me so much of my older cat when she was a kitten/foster. She’ll hiss at me and then demand to be held 2 seconds later

Below: Allison with Bunbun, a so-called “foster fail” she adopted in July 2021. Rescuers found her tangled in wire, and one of her front legs had to be amputated. Then, she found a foster home where she captivated her mama with her spunky purrsonality.
