Timofey Yuriev was traveling along a highway in Yonkers, New York, when he caught a glimpse of a little person squeezing through a crowded sidewalk.
Yuriev felt he had to stop and assist the cat as soon as he learned it was a kitten.
People were passing by a bus stop and paying little attention to the small kitten, according to Yuriev.
Yuriev promptly attempted to unwind the cord after being horrified and outraged to see that it had been viciously knotted around the poor kitten’s neck. After everything he had gone through, the poor cat was utterly afraid and wouldn’t look his savior in the eye.
“The cat tried to climb as far as he could on the darkness beneath the seat when I put him in the car,” claimed Yuriev. “He couldn’t meow earlier since it was tight around his neck. He didn’t try to claw me or anything.
Yuriev immediately transported the cat to Paws Crossed Animal Rescue after saving him so that he may receive the aid and attention he need.
The kitten’s horrific experience shocked everyone at the shelter, but they were not surprised that he was so terrified of everyone and everything in his environment. He was estimated to be 2 1/2 months old, underweight, and in excellent health.
He had minor scrapes and was quite underweight, according to Julie Potter, business and development manager at Paws Crossed Animal Rescue.
Ties adjusted quickly and began playing with his new buddies despite everything he had gone through. Soon, he had won the hearts of everyone at the shelter.
News anchor Lisa Salvadorini had the idea to adopt Lazos after she read a report about him that had been broadcast on her station. The moment she saw him at Paws Crossed Animal Rescue the next day, she knew they were meant to be.
Lazos was still very little when the shelter gave up custody to Salvadorini, but he couldn’t go home until the adoption was legally finalized. Prior to taking Lazos home, the mom herself made the decision to keep her children in the dark.
The moment their mother entered the room carrying a cat that only wanted to be with the kids forever, the kids were startled.
