This is Quincy.
He’s a nice, affectionate cat who understands exactly what he wants.
Quincy likes — indeed, adores — a cardboard cutout of actor Danny DeVito.
And he isn’t scared to flaunt it.
Quincy’s owner, Twitter user radtoria, bought the Danny DeVito cutout as a joke for her partner a time back. She reasoned that while their house was under lockdown, passers-by could get a smile from seeing it.
However, sometime along the way, a particular someone fell overly attached.
“I started putting it in the window to make our neighbors’ walks more interesting. Then, at night, I’d take it down to close the blinds” The Dodo was told by radtoria. “I’d wake up every time to see Quincy cuddling with it.”
There was some fear at first that Quincy might damage the cutout. Surprisingly, the cat’s continual attention has had no effect on the small DeVito. This cardboard cutout isn’t simply a toy for Quincy.
“He’s quite careful with it. He never chews into it. He never fights with it. It’s as though he regards it as an unique toy “radtoria said “If I attempt to take it away from him (which I no longer do), he merely stretches his paws over it and gives me a ‘don’t mess with me’ expression.”
Quincy now takes a nap with Danny DeVito’s small cardboard imitation almost every time.
“It still makes me chuckle. It’s simply such a bizarre unreal thing, isn’t it? ” Radtoria said “He has a lot of toys! Why this?”
Sure, it’s a touch out of the ordinary — but the heart wants what the heart wants.
And Quincy has made his decision.
Of course, Quincy makes time to be with his family. They are, after all, the ones who brought the adored tiny cardboard cutout of Danny DeVito into his life in the first place.
And if Quincy is content, they are as well.
“He’s the loveliest cat I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing,” remarked Radtoria. “We’re glad he has another outlet for his snuggles.”
