Staff at a local company in Corpus Christi, Texas, noticed an orange kitten wandering about on its own, with no sign of its mother around. The homeless kitten appeared afraid and confused, and when a rescuer arrived, the cat clung to his savior with tenacity as he bid farewell to his existence on the streets.

The rescuer is from Coastal Bend Cat Rescue, which received the call about the cat and transported it to safety. The tiny boy needed a wash and plenty of affection because he was coated in fleas and dirt.

Coastal Bend Cat Rescue’s parenting coordinator, Lindsay Haglund, stated:

“Shortly after our cat rescue crew arrived, he rushed to an industrial yard to hide beneath a massive forklift. It was so small next to the big forklift. It looked like a ball of orange fluff.”

He was terrified and hesitant at first, but he gradually began to relax in the arms of the savior.

Lindsay explains:

“He was discovered at the del Cielo Home Healthcare office, which means ’sent from heaven’ or ‘from heaven,’ so we named him Skywalker.”

Rescuers assume he got there by becoming caught in a hollow tire or the engine of a car, since cats typically seek sanctuary there during the winter months.

Lindsay explains:

“We constantly advise customers to blow their horn or pound the hood of their car before starting it, just in case a cat is hidden anywhere.”

Skywalker was terrified of humans when he arrived at his foster home and hid by avoiding eye contact with his carers. His new adopted family was patient with him and provided him with the appropriate space, food, and care.

When Skywalker understood he was safe in his new home, he began to show his charming nature.

The curious Skywalker was attracted by the Christmas tree and couldn’t help but come over to investigate it; he developed into a friendly little kitty that likes being near to his people; he is now ready to embark on a new chapter in his life.

Lindsay tells him that everyone is pleased with the new chapter that awaits him, and they are pleased to see how it has flourished.

She states:

“When they initially found Skywalker, he was a very frightened and terrified kitten. He has grown into a charming, beautiful, and compassionate kitty that will make his future family extremely happy for the rest of their lives. Parenting saves lives, and it is for this reason that we do what we do.”
