Meet Katydid, a Special Kitten That Turned Her Disability into a Superpower!

Mid-October brought a turning point when Kris Kaiser stepped into Katydid’s life, becoming not just a foster mom, but a guardian angel.

A diagnosis of Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) explained her unique locomotion—a condition that affects coordination and balance, rendering her movements delightfully unpredictable.

The name “Katydid” wasn’t just cute; it was perfectly descriptive. Inspired by another internet-famous wobbly cat, the moniker captured her essence—small, spirited, and gloriously unconventional.

With mild CH symptoms, Katydid transformed her home into her personal playground, zipping around like a furry rocket powered by pure kitten enthusiasm.

Kris, already a seasoned guardian of wobbly cats through her famous Tippy Tuxies (Calvin, Rosie, and Daisy), understood exactly how to help Katydid thrive.

Her home became a sanctuary of love, adaptation, and endless patience. Calvin, one of her resident cats, attempted to mentor the energetic newcomer, though her boundless kitten energy often left him comically exhausted.

She’d bite, examine, and ultimately select her favorites with the discernment of a seasoned toy critic.

Plush toys quickly became her preferred companions, perfect for dramatic bunny-kicks and late-night adventures.

A custom mini cat tree arrived, designed specifically to help her practice climbing safely—a perfect metaphor for her journey of adaptation and growth.
