Rescuer Transforms Purse into Emergency Cat Carrier in Subway Station Save!

This is the tale of Subway, the tabby cat whose ordinary commute became an extraordinary rescue, all thanks to the quick thinking and unwavering dedication of one woman, Meagan, the president of PuppyKittyNYCity, an animal rescue organization.

When Meagan was on her way to work she received an urgent message about a cat found in a subway station. Abandoning her journey, she immediately sprang into action.

With her rescue already at capacity, Meagan faced a dilemma. But for her, there was no other choice – this cat had to be saved. 

“There are some situations you can’t say no to,” she shared. “There is no way we could let this baby stay in the subway station all day long.”

She reached out to a nearby volunteer to keep the kitty safe until she could arrive.

When she got there, Meagan found the cat curled up on the volunteer’s lap, seeking solace in the human’s embrace. But without her usual rescue equipment, not even a cat carrier, they had to get creative.  

Meagan quickly removed the contents of her purse and gently placed the cat inside. To her delight, the docile feline nestled in without a fuss, trusting that he was in good hands.

As Meagan carried the cat through the bustling streets, Subway, as he was later named, snuggled into her, sensing the safety and security she provided.

“I got him safely to my car, and of course, we named him Subway,” Meagan recounted with a smile on her face.

In the days that followed, Subway’s transformation was nothing short of remarkable. Once shaken and frightened, the tabby cat blossomed into a loving, affectionate companion, craving human attention and cherishing the comforts of indoor living.

Estimated to be just one year old, Subway still had the playful spirit of a kitten, but his heart was overflowing with gratitude and trust.

“He’s literally perfect and so friendly,” Meagan gushed. “He’d be a great first cat or an amazing addition to any home.”

Subway’s gentle nature and love of cuddles made him the ideal feline friend, and he revelled in all the attention he got from the volunteers.

In a world that can often feel overwhelming, Meagan’s unwavering dedication to helping those in need, even in the most unexpected of circumstances, serves as an inspiration to us all.

Her quick thinking, like the simple act of repurposing a purse, can change the course of a life.

One thing is certain: this lovable tabby is eager to bring loud purrs and cuddles to a future forever home.
