Cats always have a funny way of getting themselves into some precarious positions. For our feisty felines at home, that means we occasionally find them perched atop the highest bookshelf or tangled in the wires behind the TV, but for stray, lonesome kitties outside, their curious nature and able-bodied acrobatics can get them into trouble.

And in our next cat rescue story, we find an extra-curious and extra-acrobatic feline who got caught in the most purrcarious of positions–trapped atop a freeway embankment during rush hour.

After receiving several frantic phone calls regarding an animal rescue, first responders rushed to the aid of this particularly curious cat who found herself stranded on a freeway embankment. The grey tabby was frozen with fear and balanced atop a 20ft fence with speeding cars racing by her. Luckily, these local heroes were here to save the day!

When CHP posted the story on their social media page, the buzz surrounding this mischievous feline rose to fame. But after a brief stint in the kitty clink, she was quickly adopted by one of the officers who helped rescue her. Officer Arroyo couldn’t resist the allure of this mischievous feline friend.

Today, these local heroes saved the life of a lost cat just doing what all cats do. Now, this sweet grey tabby can climb to the highest shelves and the sneakiest corners of the household, engaging in cat-like feistiness without ever having to worry about traffic again.
