    Posted by u/rickjamesbich 20 hours ago I trapped two very pregnant cats in my apartments last week. They had their litters within about 6 hours of each other. Every time I check on them they're co- mothering each others kittens. Is this normal among mom cats that just had litters, or an indicator that they knew each other outside?

    Hey, all moms need help with their babies sometimes, and there should not be any shame about it. It’s a good thing that hey have one another, really, because there is only so much we can do to to help them with their itty bitty babies. It’s good to have an extra babysitter on hand sometimes.

    Especially when that babysitter is oh so cute. Okay. Fine. We’re in love with this strange little family. They look both completely exhausted and so, so happy to have one another, and we are happy for them and hope that they will get to be together for a long, long time.

    Bebinn 19 hr. ago Normal for them to coparent. Makes sense, one can leave the babies to hunt while the other takes care of them. Even tho they no longer need to hunt they still feel the same way. 8.6k Reply Share

    Colfrmb 19 hr. ago I knew a couple of barn cat mamas who did this. When I first saw them switching around their babies, I thought oh no somebody's gonna kill somebody and it won't be pretty. But everybody turned out OK. Sometimes one of the mamas would go off hunting and all the babies would be on top of the remaining mother. 463 Reply Share
