Keiko and Niko’s litter were being sold (online) as fighting dogs. Luckily, an amazing organization called Simi Valley Missing Pets, rescued them, saved their lives, and adopted the puppies out to local families. At the time, we could only adopt one puppy because we already had two older dogs and our city only allows three dogs per household. Keiko was adopted by his human family and Niko was taken in by another family.

Keiko was so loved and such a joy, but unfortunately, Niko didn’t have the same experience with the family that adopted him. They weren’t good to him, but thankfully they returned Niko back to the organization. So he could find a new home. Sadly, one of our older dogs had since passed away. So we were now a two dog family.

After several months, Keiko’s family saw a post for Niko’s adoption. When we saw Niko posted online and available for adoption, there was no question that we needed to bring keiko’s brother home to live with us. The rest is history. These two couldn’t be happier together. They are two peas in a pod and are both so loved and so happy to be together again.
