When several complete strangers agreed to assist a cat who had done everything in her power to feed and rear her two litters of kittens at various ages, she experienced a real miracle.

Tangerine does not agree with the notion that cats should abandon their young, and as a result she struggled until the very end before leaving one of her kittens alone.

A feline family experienced some really difficult days at the beginning of this year, when many people were still confined to their homes as a result of the epidemic. In California, Tangerine and her eight children were eking out an existence on the streets of Los Angeles (United States).

Fortunately, staff members at the Alley Cat Rescue cat shelter learned about the incident and moved quickly to locate this family of nine.

They discovered the young children being fed by the kind mother, whom they named Tangerine. The multicolored cat raised her offspring from several litters at the age of just one, but she required a lot of assistance to get them started.

Fortunately, the volunteers spotted these small ones before the Animal Control staff did.

The shelter said, “We received the woman with two sets of four of varying ages, all nursing.”

The cat was so thin that the staff at the shelter were concerned about both her and the cost of feeding the eight babies.

Due to this, they made the decision to completely take care of the feeding of the largest litter, leaving Tangerine to focus on the four youngest and her own recuperation.

The idea appeared to be working for the first week I was staying at the shelter. Particularly the first litter that was being bottle-fed, the cat and her kittens were gaining weight.
