An emergency requiring immediate response is represented by a cat stranded in the snow in subfreezing conditions. Any animal whose body is not acclimated to this sort of environment is included in the catastrophic scenario, not only a member of this species.

A couple in the Ural city of Zlatoust discovered a fluffy cat with its whiskers totally coated in frost (Russia).

The cat had spent the night underneath the family car, likely in an effort to get a little warmer. He was essentially glued to the snow, so even that wasn’t enough.

The sight of the cat almost frozen scared Sergey Baranov, 41, and his wife Yelena, 36.

When faced with the dire circumstances, they were powerless to resist assisting him, and the cookware manufacturer’s first impulse was to pour hot water over the ice to melt it.

The woman went straight home, while Sergey stayed to soothe the cat. The man was worried that he would die from hypothermia since his legs were totally frozen.

“He must have crawled under the car at night in search of a warm spot, slept off, and the next morning all of his paws were frozen. She appeared incapable of moving her paws at all “said Sergey.

After the couple used the first hot water boiler to rescue the cat, there wasn’t much they could do to free him because he was practically cemented to the snow.

The hairy one wasn’t able to move until after the eighth pot of warm water, and even then, his paws were still frozen.

As soon as the couple was able to bring the animal out of the snow and into the house, they covered it in a blanket and took it inside out of concern for its predicament.

Although the animal was terrified—and perhaps more so after being exposed so near to water—the cat overcame his apprehensions and behaved well, allowing the rescuers to act calmly.
