The shelter informed the Nine Lives Foundation, a facility for wounded and neglected cats, instead of putting Smurf to death.
Monica Rudiger, a veterinarian, said:
“We’ll never be able to remove the purple hue off it.”
Since his rescue, the Nine Lives Foundation has posted updates on Smurf’s healing journey on social media. Together, the images depict a cat with slowly developing blotches from his traumatic background.
Smurf is now content after two months.
The young cat’s life has undergone the largest shift, yet it has nothing to do with his fur. Smurf became friends with Wanda, a blind cat, not long after he got to the shelter.
Since then, the two have been unbreakable friends. Smurf and Wanda have made great development, but experts anticipate it will still be a while before they are ready for adoption.
