While operating a milk truck during a snowstorm in Canada, Clyde Compton saw a black speck that stuck out against the white. When he went closer, he was in for a tremendous surprise because he had assumed it was clothing.

He did not think twice about descending to their rescue despite the fact that they were three helpless kittens. He had to take whatever action he could to preserve their lives.

Says Clyde

I thought they resembled apparel when I first saw them. But after a second look, I recognized them.

According to The Dodo, these kittens are thought to have been tossed off the road because there were no footprints found around them.

Says Clyde

“I could see them as I peered down from the vehicle. No one else most likely would have. They were walking through a foot of newly fallen snow on the route.”

To assist them, Clyde scooped up the cats and drove them 12 miles to his house, where his wife and children were waiting for them.

This family chose to get in touch with Deer Lake Kitten Rescue (DLKR) in order to give them with veterinary treatment and shelter because they already had two rescued canines and two rescued cats.

Volunteer for DLKR Tanya Wight stated:

“They were huddled together, fighting to survive, buried in ice and snow. They must have been launched from a car. Unfathomable brutality to animals

Fortunately, the three 10-week-old kittens lived and were even given names: the male with short hair is named Flurry, the female with long hair is named Shiver, and the kitten with short hair is named Stormy.

The fact that they are alive is absolutely a miracle, even if they still need to fully heal, put on some weight, and Shiver needs to take medication to treat a respiratory infection.

The cats are being boarded by Tanya until they heal, and once they have, they will be sent to the Newfoundland West SPCA (NL West SPCA).
