On a chilly, snowy night in late January, firefighters from the Steinbach Fire Department in Canada were surprised by a visitor at their station. It was a cute, abandoned cat that was frantically searching out the window for some warmth.

Fortunately, these kind-hearted firefighters didn’t pass her by and greeted her right away. According to The Dodo, they originally believed that it was someone’s lost pet, so in addition to giving him somewhere to stay, they promptly posted what had happened on social media in the hopes that her relatives would come to her rescue.

They decided to take charge of her when no one returned her call by giving her all the care she needed and even a name, “Ember.”

Ember received treatment from a veterinarian, and fortunately her prognosis was accurate. She had all the vaccines she required, was clean and sterilized, and is in wonderful health.

Even though Ember was a hit with everyone, it was obvious that the station couldn’t provide her what she needed.

The division reported:

“Since Steinbach does not have a full-time fire department, there is not always someone on duty at the station. Ember the cat need a lot of love and care, but sadly, the station sometimes go days without anyone being there.
