Bob, a former veterinarian, has always had a strong connection to animals since they have always brought him much joy and satisfaction. But after receiving an Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2009, Bob’s life transformed and has been a continual battle ever since.

Finding anything that makes Bob happy is challenging; it appears that nothing does. Fortunately, his cat Mooshu would change everything.

Mooshu is a sociable, affectionate cat that enjoys being around people and cuddling up to them.

Bob, the family’s new cat, had the illness when he arrived in 2013, and Mooshu quickly understood how much he needed it.
Bob Wright’s wife Patricia stated to The Dodo:

“Mooshu was constantly being picked up and placed on Bob’s lap because he kept requesting for a cat to sit on his lap. He now spends all of his time there and snores in his arms at night.

Although the couple also owns a cat named Norman, for some reason his ailing father feels a unique connection to Mooshu.

The sweet cat, who has taken on the role of his father’s personal defender and keeps an eye on him everywhere he goes, appears to be aware of what is going on with him.

Cathy remarked:

“I believe he is aware of how much more his father needs him right now. Mooshu is the cat who meows and rubs up against Bob when he’s taking a shower to make sure he’s okay.

The cat makes an effort to spend as much time as possible with its father, but occasionally it needs leave to engage in typical cat behaviors.

Patricia realized how upset her husband became when Mooshu isn’t around him, so she had a brilliant thought.

Cathy remarked:

“Bob kept Mooshu so quiet and content that he couldn’t be happy unless the cat was on his lap. When Moosh began doing cat things, I had to get him a robot cat to keep him company.”

Mooshu first turned down the robot cat’s companionship and did not understand why the cat was sitting on his father’s lap, but eventually he came around.

Now that his closest buddy has decided to return, Mooshu may go exploring and playing in peace while his father enjoys the companionship of the robot cat.

It’s not easy to live with Alzheimer’s; some days are worse than others. However, as long as Mooshu stays at Bob’s side, there is nothing they can’t overcome together.
