TikTok user @thethriftymama believed she had found a very unusual item while perusing a thrift store in New York City.
There, on top of one of the store’s display shelves, was what seemed to be a vintage fur hat, and considering that it appeared to be from the 1950s, it was in remarkably decent shape.
But it turns out the “hat” was something much more unexpected.

@thethriftymama was startled to see that the “hat” was actually a cat.
She replied, finally realizing the reality as she went up to try it on, “I swear my heart leaped into my throat.”
It appears that the adorable orange cat, who is napping amid the items for sale, is a worker at the thrift store. And throughout the years, just by being himself, he has made quite the positive effect on the clients.
He has been singled out by a number of customers in the secondhand store’s online reviews.
One reviewer described their visit to the store as “adorable nearly dog-like cat will grace you if you’re lucky.”
“Good prices. Huge selection. Cute cat,” another added.
The actual star is him.
In the end, @thethriftymama was unable to put on the antique fur cap she had hoped to find at the thrift shop.
But she wasn’t let down because of that experience with the prettiest employee in the store.
