Huxley, a tabby kitten, was taken to Anchorage Animal Care and Control (AACC) in the United States alongside other kittens. The cat arrived with a number of health issues and a very low weight. Staff at AACC worked tirelessly to help the big-eyed cat recover, but they were sure that she would require specialist care to make a full recovery.

Huxley is said to have been born with a congenital ailment that causes urinary incontinence. The animal control center decided it was in the kitten’s best interests to locate a rescue center that could meet her needs and enhance her quality of life.

Shannon Basner, creator of Alaska’s KAAATs, a rescue center for special-needs animals, stated:

“They reached out to us to see if we could incorporate her into our Mojo’s Hope program, as our mission is to help animals with special needs. They sent her away with all her treats, a cat tree, scrapers and her favorite toy.”

She received medical care for an ailment that afflicted her as soon as she arrived; the kitten worked hard to get ahead. Huxley is six months old but with the size of a four-month-old baby, which explains her temperament and the fact that she has permanent teeth.

Shannon explains:

“We’ve been planning her routine to ensure she feels at ease and gets acclimated to it. She has a huge appetite and relies on the litter box for all of her other needs.”

The kitten leaps in a striking plantigrade posture (supported by tarsals) and requires assistance going to the restroom multiple times each day. Her health issues are continuously being assessed, but the cat does not let anything stop her from living her life and is highly interested.

The foster mother continued, saying:

“The vet also took some X-rays so we could examine at the spine and determine what was causing her urination, which was most likely Manx syndrome.”

The cute kitten always appears to be happy and content with all of the attention she generally receives from her carers, and she always ends herself tangled up in some mischief.

The shelter volunteer guarantees:

“Huxley has a lot of personality! She is utterly lovely, playful, cuddly, and full of loving purrs. It exudes bravery, resolve, and perseverance.”

Huxley, the curious one, likes bouncing about the room, and despite being very little for her age, she is highly energetic and self-assured in her skills. She is an extremely mischievous girl, and no toy escapes her grasp for a good time.

Shannon explains:

“She came from a difficult situation and was not in good condition, therefore the treatment she got at AACC, along with her resilient personality, helped her.”

This bold cat does not let anything stop her from climbing fast on her legs. She has many different emotions, ranging from a ferocious and reckless grin to a comical and carefree grimace.

The cat is developing as a result of adequate care and routine that assists her in improving her condition. She gets on her back and falls asleep whenever she needs a break from her hectic day.

Shannon concluded by saying:

“We hope that once we get her back, she will be able to pick a loving and forever family, one that will welcome her into their hearts, recognize her particular special requirements, and give her with the everlasting care she requires.”
