Los Angeles-based Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats enjoyed their 12th “Annimeowsary” in April 2022. Over the years, they have saved many thousands of feral cats from the “mean streets” of Los Angeles.

Each year, the Kity Bungalow takes in hundreds of kittens to the Charm School, “taking hissy little babies and turning them into purring little lap cats,” they state on Facebook.

In this school, volunteers and foster parents use “fear-free socialization techniques,” taking the “student” kittens from “hiss to home.” When the students graduate, they find homes where they continue to blossom, “growing into the most wonderful house cats a family could desire.”

With kitten season in full swing, the Kitty Bungalow is taking in so many kittens, frequently with their mothers.

“Meet Lucille and Buster! These two share a special mother-son bond like we’ve never seen before. Lucille loves spending time with her son and Buster doesn’t mind having his mom as his best friend! We adore this duo, and we’d like to try to find them a furever home together.” via Facebook.

When the mommas aren’t with the kittens, they focus on giving all their students as much attention as possible.

“Sometimes certain students/kittens, who aren’t with their Mamas, are shocked to discover that KB staff and volunteers aren’t their actual Mothers…..Because we give them as much love as their real Mamas would,” they posted.

Here are just a few of the incredibly cute furbabies enrolled in Charm School.

New Students at the Kitty Bungalow Charm School

When introducing new student kittens, the Kitty Bungalow always comes up with clever names. Although it might seem fancy, these fun names go a long way to help the kittens find their forever homes.

Kittens Gone Bananas ?

For example, here are kittens named after monkeys and gorillas and their mom, who else but Dame Jane Goodall?

“We are going ? BANANAS ? for our new enrollees! Meet new students Kong, Rafiki, King Louie, Mojo Jojo, Abu, and their mom Jane Goodall!”

Gemstone Kittens ?

And here is a litter of cuties named for gemstones:

“Meet the Gemstone Litter, who just might rock your world: Peridot, Aquamarine, Jasper, Tiger’s Eye, Howlite, and mama Gemma! Keep an eye out for when these pawsome students are ready for adoption- they’re a hidden gem! ??

Rare Unicorn Kitten ?

Below, you can see a rare “unicorn” kitten.

“Did you know that male calico cats are very rare – to the point of being referred to as the “unicorn” of cats? Even our Life-Saving Director, who has worked in animal rescue for years, had never encountered one until recently ?,” they posed.

“Meet Malted Milk Egg!? Part of the Easter Candy bunch, this gentle-kit was KB’s very own unicorn! How cool is that? He graduated from charm school this past weekend, so he is off to showcase his magic (and sass) in his new furever home! ?

? Spring Rain Kittens ☂

And, lastly, the Kitty Bungalow introduced kittens named for Spring Rain on Earth Day, April 22.

“In honor of Earth Day, we’d love to introduce you to our Spring Rain Litter: Umbrella, Galoshes, Puddles, and Slicker! These four students love throwing on their boots and playing in the rain – although we don’t get too much here in LA! These kiddos will be learning about sustainability for the next few weeks so they’re not quite ready for adoption. ??

If you’re like us, you want to take them all home. As you can see, The Kitty Bungalow does an amazing job telling the stories of each fluffy little student and their mothers. Meanwhile, they continue with TNR (trap, neuter, release) efforts in the Los Angeles area. In this case, the more student enrollment goes down, the better because that means fewer helpless cats and kittens on the streets.
