Matea was riding her bike home from work when she came across a cat wandering alone near a busy main boulevard, and she felt she had to do something to assist him.
Matea stated:
“I was cycling along my normal path. As I reached the crossroads, I noticed a little ball of fluff and realized it was a starved kitten.”
The woman got off her bike and approached the cat, offering to take care of it, while the kitten just stood there watching her.
The kitten also approached Matea, as though he was eager to be picked up and given the assistance he had been seeking for so long. Matea then placed the kitten in his bag so that he could transport it with care, as the cat was only skin and bones at the moment.
However, he was overjoyed and glad to get assistance, so much so that he opted to relax and take a lengthy nap throughout the journey.
Matea remarked:
“He was in terrible shape on the first day, but I believe he ultimately realized he could relax and sleep.”
The woman took the tabby cat to the vet, who informed her that his weight was extremely low and that he was barely half the size she should be. But because he was willing to live and battle against any hardship, they believed that with proper care, he would be able to thrive.
The kitten’s appearance was very tender, even his large ears made him look like Gizmo, a well-remembered character from the movie ‘Gremlins’, and so he got his name.
Perhaps fate placed the cat in Matea’s path because he left work later that day and so had a better chance of finding him.
Gizmo felt at home in his new home, ate till his appetite was satisfied, and napped in his cozy and warm blankets. Matea gave him a teddy animal so he wouldn’t feel alone and therefore be able to sleep well and catch up on missed sleep.
Gizmo rapidly improved after rigorous veterinary treatment and began to demonstrate that he was a kitten with a lot of energy. Gizmo progressed successfully during the next several weeks, not only recovering his health and weight but also demonstrating his intelligence.
Gizmo soon became a love-filled bug who took on the role of home supervisor, keeping an eye on his carers. Really, the cat enjoys all of his carers, lavishing them with kisses and never fails to bring a smile on their faces.
Matea continued:
“Every morning when I wake up and every afternoon when I return home from work, he greets me.”
Little Gizmo has gone a long way since he was rescued, but the greatest part is that he has matured into a lovely young cat.
Gizmo had a second shot at life because to Matea’s kind heart, and he now just loves his cozy VIP existence.
